When choosing an Early Intervention Programme (EIP), ask how the centre assesses your child, develops individual goals, coordinates its team, and involves parents in reviewing progress. Location matters too: choose a centre your family can attend consistently.
At WeShine Child Development Centre, our EIP is guided by clinical psychologists and supported by a multidisciplinary team. We have centres in TTDI, Kuala Lumpur, and Subang Jaya / USJ.
Does the programme start with understanding your child?
Ask what happens before your child begins classes. How will the centre understand their current abilities, strengths, and areas where they need support?
At WeShine, enrolment begins with an assessment conducted by a clinical psychologist. The findings guide an Individualised Education Plan (IEP), rather than giving every child the same learning goals.
What will your child work towards?
Ask the centre to explain the proposed goals in everyday language. You should understand what your child will practise and why those skills matter.
WeShine’s EIP covers areas such as communication, social interaction, play, daily living, motor skills, learning, and school readiness. Each child’s goals depend on their individual developmental profile.
Who plans and monitors the programme?
Find out who is responsible for your child’s plan and how the people supporting them work together.
Each child enrolled in WeShine’s EIP is assigned a clinical psychologist as their case manager. Special needs educators and occupational therapists work together to put the individual plan into practice.
How are parents involved?
Ask how you will receive feedback and share your own observations. Progress at the centre and experiences at home both help build a fuller picture of your child.
At WeShine, feedback sessions give parents opportunities to discuss learning and progress with the team.
What should you ask during a centre visit?
Bring questions that matter to your family:
- What would the assessment involve?
- How are individual learning goals chosen?
- How will my child’s progress be reviewed?
- What programme schedule is currently available?
- What are the fees and enrolment arrangements?
- Who should I contact if I have a concern?
Ask the centre directly for current availability, fees, and schedules.
